I learned from Mary that the Minute Waltz could be played by her on the piano in half-a-minute!  Her sense of humor refreshing. My best memory was of our working on the papermache costume heads for the Blue and Gold Day Parade. From bending chicken wire to slopping wet gooey strips of paste coated strips of paper we had a ball. I can't tell you if we even were given any notice or recognition. In remembering my friend Mary Acuff I was given a gift and I will cherish it always.
Fondly remembered by Mary Kay Battaia Pierce

Mary was alway ready for a good time. I remember toilet papering her house one night and her dad turned on the porch light as I was doing the front door. I fell off of the porch and my "friends" took off in the car and left me in the bushes. Mary laughed her head off. Karen Mcmanus Brown
