Jim was one of the nicest people I have ever known. After high school, I believe he worked his way up with Safeway to eventually manage their store at 44th and Wadsworth. His disease left his body crooked and hunched, but in high school he was incredibly strong. He played tight end and I can recall many practices when we would try to tackle him. It usually took at least four to five people to bring him down. Dick Speer
I too remember Jim as a great friendly guy one that loved to kid around and have fun. The smile on his face in this picture was truely him. Ron Barnes
I too remember what a kind and gentle guy Jim was. I remember walking to class with him and looking up at that charming, sweet smile and feeling that solid strength he exuded. Somehow I am remembering him in Algebra class - and that he really got it --- and I didn't. I am sad he suffered and have fond memories of a wonderful classmate. Judy Ream Berg
I was a year behind Jim, but always thought of him as someone I could respect and emulate. We played a lot of summer baseball together. I had no idea he had passed away; I've thought about him and Roberta through the years. Barbara and I extend our deepest condolences to his family.
