Trooper, aka "Tru" or the "Prince of Perfect" is by CH Rockwood Valdawn Standing O ex Valdawn Rockwood Blk Dahlia. He was whelped at Valdawn Shetland Sheepdogs on June 20, 1996. Tru is 14 1/2" and tricolored. We are very grateful to Kay and Herb Searle for entrusting us with this wonderful little boy.

Tru is a sweet and quiet gentleman. He came to Brigadoon at the ripe old age of 9 weeks, and I cannot ever recall him ever doing anything wrong or getting himself into trouble. He is happy as long as he's near us and will do just about anything at all to please us.

While my initial intent was just to go have fun with my dog.... Tru just kind of "picked up" competition obedience and earned his AKC Companion Dog (CD) title within 4 months. During this same time, he met the certification requirements for Therapy Dog International, Inc. and began visiting nursing homes and children's hospitals with his Dad. When TDI created an "actively working therapy dog" title, Tru was right there in the running. He earned his TDIA, which consisted of a minimum of 50 documented, verified TDI visits, within 11 months. Because he worked so hard to please, we felt he needed more fun in his life, and so I took him to his first agility class. WOW! He sparkled, he bounced, he exuded confidence! The little guy who didn't particularly like the "limelight" shown so brightly.... he earned his AKC Novice Agility Jumpers with Weaves (NAJ) title in three trials! Within two more trials he earned his AKC Novice Agility (NA) title as well.

He works hard, he plays hard. He is his Daddy's shadow and his Mommy's soul. He is responsible for our growing love of shelties..... and in addition to introducing us to performance competition, our love for Trooper inspired us to care for other less fortunate shelties. In that way, you could say he is responsible for our involvement in Rescue and foster care. He is our "Golden Boy"..... he will always be number one at Brigadoon!
