Sam Walton Community Scholarship - Each operating Wal-Mart Store and SAM'S CLUB is eligible to award two $1,000 scholarships to qualifying local high school seniors. This award is used for the student's freshman year at an accredited U.S. college or university approved by the Wal-Mart Foundation. The award can only be applied to cover tuition, books, fees and on-campus room and board. More than 6,000 of these awards will be given during the upcoming year to graduating high school seniors, who have no affiliation with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.  All local winners will automatically be entered into a state competition for a chance to win an additional $4,000 scholarship, for a total award of $5,000. All state winners will then be automatically entered into a national competition for a chance to win an additional $20,000 scholarship, for a total scholarship award of $25,000! The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides four (4) year college schoalrships of up to $6,000 annually to minority high school students to attend a college of their choice. For further information, click the Wal-Mart Link Above. (Deadline Date - April 1st )
