These photos were all taken at the public Candlelight Vigil, as well as around Washington D.C. by several caring people that wanted those of us unable to attend, to feel as though we were a part of the Vigil. They also serve as a way to enlighten the people in the United States to the fact that so many of our children are missing, and hundreds more are abducted every day. We must work together to end this.
"FREE THE CHILDREN ........... SET THEM FREE©"
Many have wondered why I find myself so passionate about other people's children that I have not ever met. Personally, I do not think we have to hold a child in our arms to know the pureness of their hearts. Only one look into what were once the happy eyes of a child before they were taken away.
Do I need to have played with a child to hear it's laughter in my ears? No. Do I hear the cries of the children, and the parents left behind? Yes, I do.
A single unhappy, unsafe child is one too many.

This vigil was the first one for my friend Sheila. Along with keeping in touch with me, as well as sending photos from each day, she and her husband Kevin worked alongside the parents tirelessly, going to Senator's offices to talk to them about establishing "Vivian's Law" in all states. Here is what she had to say:
"I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to spend a few days with people that I have worked with online over the past couple of years. Throughout the conferences and vigil I saw energy levels that were just incredible. Steven was a whirlwind, Marta did her best though to keep him in check. Marta generously allowed me to use her laptop so that I could send the photos back to Sass and Suzy. This way you could get them before I returned home. She also let me rest in her room when my back decided to act up. I wouldn't have made it through the candlelight vigil if she hadn't done that.
It was quite an experience to make the rounds of the senator's offices with the parents, Dee Thomas, John Trout, Joyce, and Kevin. We got immediate results from some, and others contacted Steven later.
Talking to the parents face to face was quite an experience for me. I have spoken to them through e-mail, IM and chat, but face to face was so much better. I felt a bonding with some of them that was immediate, and that doesn't happen easily with me. I can identify strongly with the emotions of some I spoke to. I'm a survivor, and recognize the survival instinct in others. We survived because we allowed no one to take a central part of us away, specifically our hearts and souls, that which makes us .... us. We guard them well because as long as we have them, we will survive and fight! Sharing with others strengthens us. Many can't understand how this works, and it's often difficult to explain how this works to someone that's never "been there", but it's there and so very much alive.
My husband also took part in this, and I was so very proud of him. he marched with us, grabbed a pole of the tee-shirt clothesline and managed to take pics while doing so. He listened to the parents and grandparents, went to the senators offices with us, and picked up "fur balls" all over the place. He thinks Steven's quite a guy. He enjoyed working with us. It is something that we will both remember
for a long time to come........ - Sheila"

This is what it is all about. Parents with abducted children, supporters of the parents that don't have an abducted child, but live to help in whatever way they can. All the unsung hero's on the Internet like YOU, that wrote and called the Senators to pass Nadia's Resolution, to help with Vivian's Law, or whatever we ask of you. All those unsung newsletter editors across the Internet that forward our requests to their own lists, and support the work we do. None of what we accomplish each year is one person's work, but it could not be done without all of your help. Thank you for fighting with us to help those that previously had no voice. It is with your work that changes like this are being seen in the government: "Germany Bows to US on custody disputes". They are hearing our voices, they are finally seeing what these parents go through each day just to get their children back home.
THANK YOU TO ALL THE EDITORS AND THEIR READERS THAT HELP US WITH THE WORK WE ARE DOING ! YOU ARE ALL ANGELS
