                Welcome to the Kern Model Aircraft Kontrollers web site.  Our clubs main interest is in radio controlled model aircraft.  We have at present 40 members who enjoy the hobby and take great pride in providing a service to our community.  Our club is located in the Kern River Valley, approx. 50 miles East of Bakersfield California. KMAK field is located at Hanning Flats with a 600x100 runway(compacted DG) with shade structure, parking and restroom. Elevation at the field is 2650 ASL and is only 1/2 mile from beautiful Lake Isabella.
KMAK holds three fun flys each year , two from land and one from water. A swap meet is held twice a year. Our club is AMA chartered (2506) and we welcome vistors to participate in all our events.
Our meetings are held on the 4th Monday of month at 7:00 PM at the Lake Isabella library, guests are invited to attend. Dates for our forthcoming funflys are listed below,contact chairman of event or president for additional information.

The fun fly held on November 10 was very successful and the donation of canned food and cash to the needy exceeded our estimates. There were 21 flyers signed up and the weather was calm and the temperture stayed in the mid 70's.Grand prize winner was Paul Shoemaker with 10 flights. There were all types of models,electric,controled free flight.combat,scale and sport. The BBQ turned out great and all enjoyed the hamburgers and hot dogs served by Joe Dier and his wife.

Christmas Party

Our last event of the year will be the Christmas party to be held on December 8 .Notification on location and time will be in the next news letter. There will raffles,games and food.Contact chairman Don Panek at 376-4620 for additional information.
