Who We Are and What We Do
M & M provides tools for church planters and pastoral trainers. We help them to keep a healthy balance between mentoring and lecturing, discerning when and where both apply, and to train leaders the way Jesus and Paul did. Writers and field workers include George Patterson, Galen Currah, Rob & Anne Thiessen, Brian Simmons, Patrick O'Connor, Ed Aw, Roger Pierce and others who cooperate with 'Paul-Timothy' training, give workshops and mentor workers.
Questions Answered
How do I receive mentoring?
By phone, e-mail, interview or small group meetings if possible.
When are sessions and how long are they?
Phone sessions are arranged by you and the mentor, at the convenience of both. For e-mail exchanges you set the pace.
Who funds the mentoring?
No one. Except to receive seminary credit, mentors donate time joyfully out of love for Christ and his servants, because we find that mentoring for ministry consistently yields excellent results.
Are the mentors employed by an Christian organization or church?
Some are. They represent many denominations and types of churches.
Must I be a pastor or missionary to receive mentoring?
No. We help seekers and people with personal or family problems. To mentor for ministry, however, we prefer to deal with Christian workers who are serving in a ministry, or are eager to do so, and are approved by their church.
How do church planters avoid error entering in new,
weak churches when they multiply rapidly?
The really dangerous doctrines that spread and weaken churches have not come from new churches in such a movement; they come from old, sterile churches and old seminaries.
What is the difference between a churches and a cell?
Although some define a cell otherwise, we consider a healthy cell to be a tiny church within a larger church body. In fields with hostile authorities, they are often house churches that identify loosely with other churches of the area.
