"September"
We'll see just what nice pleasant things The lovely month, September brings. For now that summer's gave it's all, And ushered us into the fall.
|
This month, that Indian Summer breathes, Upon the bright, green shady trees. And changes them, before our eye's, With colors gay, that harmonize. |
Bright, bright gold's, and brilliant red, They drop to earth, to make a bed Of brilliant colors, they've no peer, And so we know, September's here!

"Late Summer"
Late Summer's upon us, We can tell by the trees. For we hear the breeze stirring, Their many dry leaves. |
Late Summer's upon us, We can tell by the fields. For they're all dry and dusty, After giving their yields. |
Late Summer's upon us, We can tell by the nights. Cool winds, gently blowing, All the stars out so bright. |
Late Summer's upon us, We can tell by the sigh Of the many small children, As to school, pass us by!
