More PROPHECY INFORMATION: I heard Pastor David Hocking, www.hopefortoday.org, on the radio. He stated that Bozrah is the place that Jesus is going to come down to first, at the second coming, and that of course He will head over to Jerusalem (the Mount of Olives, etc.) from there. So the first thing I did was look up the Bozrah (old city, Biblical name) verses in the Old Testament, and sure enough, they do sound like the correct location! Jeremiah 49:22- "Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah:and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs." verse 13 (Jer.49)- "For I have sworn by myself, saith the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes." (And read all of the verses in between 13-22) Micah 2:12- "I will surely assemble, O Jacob,all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold:they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men." (And be sure the read the next verse) See also Isaiah 34:6 and all surrounding verses, and Amos 1:12! Go to www.tribulation.com and click to the section on Petra/Bozrah, for more. Then after reading all of this, I tried to find maps, and of course assumed that Bozrah is somewhere in the valley of Megiddo. Surprise! It isn't. I think --not totally sure---that it is located somewhere near Petra, where much of the remnant will be safely hiding. The Jezreel area, or Megiddo, or the valley of Megiddo, is mentioned several times in the Bible, but nowhere does it indicate that it is the area that Jesus is going to approach at the second coming! The map showed me that is is well to the northwest of Bozrah/Petra! So something didn't jive. I know that Revelation 16:16 indicates that the kings of the east and the whole world will gather there at the Armageddon area, and we have always heard about the BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON, meaning simply what will happen after they all foolishly try to battle Jesus HIMSELF!! It won't be much of a "battle"- the King of Kings will win, hands down! But I have always believed that not only will they gather to take Jerusalem, but will probably first try to kill the remnant hiding at Petra! Now this makes even more sense to me. Perhaps they DO gather first at ARMAGEDDON, but then actually succeed in migrating to Bozrah, and THAT is where Jesus will meet them, for the BATTLE OF BOZRAH!! Something to ponder. All of the prophecy teachers, including myself, could have been totally wrong about the location of the second coming of Jesus!---Written by CYNTHIA DIANE Note: Pastor Hocking has been kind enough to email me with his views on the subject, and my understanding of that is that there needs to be NO GATHERING AT ALL at "ARMAGEDDON" because that word in Rev. 16:16 has NOTHING TO DO WITH MEGIDDO (except in the sense of representing the history at Megiddo, in battles and takeovers,etc. I don't recall his exact words). In fact, he thinks ARMAGEDDON represents the winepress of the whole bloodbath, or something to that effect! His analysis of the winepress of God's wrath is interesting. The Valley of Megiddo or Armageddon DOES enter into the picture! You see, the beginning of Megiddo and the end of a rift that passes through the Dead Sea is exactly 182-185 miles long, or 1600 furlongs. The blood flow can begin at Bozrah and end at the Valley of Megiddo! Fascinating! |

Taylor" who took the time to find the Aramic for "ARMAGEDDON" , because the word does not translate into regular Hebrew, and some opinions about it having been translated- erroneously?- to "Megiddo"?!- and about Edom, Moab and Ammon all being in Jordan, with the fleeing place Petra/Bozrah being in Edom, and where the Bible calls this the "Sheep Pen of the Remnant" and what Isaiah 63:1-6 says about Bozrah/Petra! |
