GOR
THE GOREAN WAY

There will be some that may take offense to the Gorean ways but it is
not meant to be offensive. It is intended to offer knowledge to those
who wish to seek out  the Gorean lifestyle as a  Free Person. It is
understood that each individual must pursue this lifestyle in their own
fashion, but even in doing so, if one wishes to gain the respect of those
around Him/Her then there are certain codes that a Gorean Master or
Free Woman must realize are essential.

When relating to the slaves of Gor, understand that they are NOT
your girlfriend or boyfriend, they are slaves. They seek the structure,
strength and command of a Gorean, and it is your responsibility as a
Free Person on Gor to give it to them. They are expected to do as they
are told and should find their pleasure in pleasing you. If a slave wears
your ko'lar then she/he has already agreed to accept YOUR word as final,
so make sure it is. Have confindence in what you command and then
stand by it without cruelty or malice but with strength and conviction.
Many will say that it takes all kinds and that they don't believe that
every Gorean was as harsh as it seems, BUT not every Gorean had
the respect of the masses either.

THE GOREAN MASTER
The Master is a strong man, a dominant man. He is sure of himself,
confident in his place in the society and in His Homestone. He cherishes
females, revels by their presence. He is giving, caring ,loving and
understanding, but he is also demanding and has the strength to attain
whatever he desires. When the Master takes on the responsibility of
owning a kajira, He teaches her to discover herself the kind of a woman
she can and should  be, and the kind He wants to possess. He will push
her  constantly to learn all that she needs to know to please him in every
way. He is always ready to show her that she is strong, that her limits
are not what she believes them to be. In this, the Master reveals to the
kajira her own confidence, her own levels of self esteem, and all the beauty
that she holds within. He teaches her to become a true woman and worthy
of being his property. And he must accept that at times he will have to
wield the kurt, for it is only through the pain of such discipline is a kajira
to be cleansed of the even worse pain of being displeasing and there is
not one who is not found displeasing at one time or another.

As the Master learns his new kajira, an understanding takes place.
He senses her desires, her needs, her passions. With this new knowledge,
the Master takes care of the kajira, always giving what the kajira needs,
but not necessarily what she presumes she needs, or thinks she wants.

It is the Master's responsibility to care for and protect his slave. If she is
sick, he will see that she is cared for. If she is exhausted, he will make her
rest so she is better able to serve him. These things, he does willingly,
because he is Gorean, He understands her as no Earthly man could. He
has seen into her soul, and held  it in his hand. Her mind is his, to read,
to know. Her body is his to feel and enjoy. Her heart is his to caress and
she becomes his true possession and a part of who he is.

A Gorean Master will always be certain that what He is ordering is truly
what is best for His kajira and that He is not demanding more from her
than she can give, or working to destroy His possession with ego driven
desires, for it  is known that men of  Gor do not suffer as the lowly men
of Earth from the pitfalls of the ego. Even tho a Master has the right to treat
His kajira any way He wants, His code is to  be honored and respected,
and keeping His slave(s) as an honorable Man is part of that code.

The Master does not take away the kajira's identity, but allows her to
grow into her own womanhood. A kajira's commitment to her Master is
not a vehicle of punishment or hatred, but one of love and development.
The kajira is given the room to come into her own, under her Master's care,
like a delicate dina  that flourishes under the central fire's warmth. For
everything a Gorean Master enjoys where his slave is concerned there is
a responsibility that goes with it. A Gorean who cannot meet those
responsibilities will keep no slave for long.

THE FREE PERSON
The Free Person on Gor is normally referred to the Female. Free Women
are viewed by most Goreans as priceless. Slaves are not used for
breeding, except to create additional slaves. Therefore only a Free
Woman can bear children that create family.

The rights of Free Women vary by city  (caste and wealth, as might be
expected) with wealthy high caste women having  a great deal of
freedom of action. Free Women are often seen managing shops in
the cities, since it is generlly dangerous for women to travel without
an escort. In such cases, the men do the leg work and the women
manage the business. Many members of the Caste of Scribes are
women, and generally these women are as honored for their work
as their male counterparts. Free Women wear Robes of Concealment
hiding their features with only their eyes showing underneath the many
veils concealing their face. On Gor a Free Woman would rather be totally
stripped of the rest of  her clothing than to lose her veils. A woman
without a veil is naked, while those without clothing are merely undressed.

FREE COMPANION
Free Comanions are the closest thing to a "wife" that a Gorean has.
It is a contract between the Parties for a period of one year. If not
re-avowed and renewed on it's anniversary, the contract is considered
dissolved. Considering the life span of a Gorean is measured in
centuries, not years, this is very practical. Free Companionships are
automatically dissolved if either is enslaved.

THE GOREAN KAJIRA
The kajira is a woman, firm in her femininity, strong in her commitment,
and solid in her spitit. She offers herself to her Master freely, of her own
choosing for all have the right on Gor to chose death over slavery. The
kajira is obedient because she chooses to be, even when she knows she
could easily be forced into obedience. Her first priority is pleasing her
Master. She willingly does whatever he asks in order to meet his desires
and derives her own pleasure by doing so.

The kajira comes to her Master unsure of her place in his world. With
His guidance (gentle or harsh), she quickly learns what is expected of her.
With this learning, she begins to give more and more of herself, her mind,
her body, and her spirit, until she has given her all to her Master. There is
no power given up, no control taken away, she is simply HIS. The kajira
is intelligent and strong, she has a spirit that is worthy of serving her
Master as a slave and learns to focus her spirit and her energy only in
those directions which are pleasing to her Master. An immense
measure of trust is built between the two. The kajira  must trust her
Master completely in order to give him so much of herself and the
Master must trust the kajira in order for him to accept it.

The "Training" of the kajira is the journey or the process of learning
what the Master desires. Some of this journey is met with joy and
happiness for both, but like any worthwhile journey, there are also
times when the road is rough and long. These are the times when the
Master's strength and kajira's strength are needed the most. The Master
does not travel this road out of sense of cruelty or for a desire to beat
his kajira, nor does the kajira travel this road out of fear of beatings, or
of being caste from her Master's Homestone, she does these things
because her goal is to please  her Master in all ways possible. Even the
most "bratty" kajira comes to know just what is expected of her and
what her Master's needs are , and will strive to meet His every expectation
of her. Her spirit may in play push her Master just so far, but to exceed
that limit would be to displease her Master, something a true kajira will
always strive to avoid. Even the most strict of all Masters will make
certain His kajira knows what is expected of her at all times.
The kajira seemingly has no responsibilities, no thoughts of her own,
but a deeper observation shows otherwise. It could be said  that the
Master holds all the responsibilities: however, many of the kajira's
responsibilities are so subtle that they are too easily overlooked. When
one considers what it really means to be pleasing to a Master at all
times it has to be recognized that this simple statement holds so much
importance than it might seem at first. Pleasing a true Gorean Master
is not easy, nor is it meant to be. A Master will not only push the limits of
His kajira in the the physical arena, but will delve into her heart, mind, and
spirit showing her all she can be there as well. The kajira must believe
and trust that what her Master does is for her own good and never question
his motives. If he orders her to do something she will do so happily,
and without embarrassment, because that is what her Master wants.
The kajira will not harbor any resentments or guilt from this action and
trusts that her Master knows what is best for her.

THE GOREAN KAJIRU
The kajiru is the male counterpart to the kajira and has the same lot in
the Gorean system. The training is somewhat similiar and he is expected
to obey without question as does  the kajira.
