If you happen to know where I can get a Beta videocassete machine that plays the original Beta 1 speed (I've been doing this for a while) let me know. This would have to be in the Los Angeles, Ca. area.
The "Sunday Drive" series is my feeble attempt to derive the spirit of Hewell Howser and Ralph Story, and bring the rich and varied nature of my travels around town to light on video. So far I have only completed one, a drive around the Palos Verdes peninsula.  And this isn't a link either.

The mark of a great video is for people to just not get bored. The best person for me to bore with my video is my roommate, who quite frankly explained that this was "the best I'd ever done." And that was just the raw footage before even a whit of editing has been performed. This will be a keeper. The plot is simple. I went to the Faire and videotaped it. I tried to get performers (every juggler in California was there) interesting people in costume, musical performances, and some examples of art and crafts that were displayed. I shot over one and a half hours of footage, and expect to edit two or three versions of just this video footage. I am very excited by this endeavor, and the above link when finished should at least connect to still pictures of the faire.
As digital video becomes more popular, I want anybody who visits to realize this page has been up since May of 1999. The following paragraphs are still intact.

This will establish the Mikevideo presence on the website. Mikevideo has started filming again thanks to DV (purchased in 1997) and will shortly offer new and exciting movies detailing all trips taken around town.

Just scroll down the page until you hit the mikevideo you are interested and then click on it.

There is a history of Mikevideo, and will hopefully eventually be clips in either realvideo or avi of some of the works, including the new masterwork,"Nantucket Holiday Island" and "Renaissance Day with Mikevideo" a cinema verite look at the Southern California "Renaissance Pleasure Faire" with links to the artists and performers shown when I can find them again.
The web seems like an ideal place to begin the eventual production of Mikevideo, including the original Beta and VHS videos when and if I can transfer them to DV and edit them in the computer. This is the beginning of a rebirth of allthingsmikevideo as well. It's a good thing this electronic artist's medium came along while I am at the peak of my creative urgings. Let me find my muse and off to the movies.

Mikevideo.
In September of 1999 I took a trip to Nantucket Island off the coast of Massachusetts, and taped over three hours of footage. The completed work is only an hour long, yet encompasses most of the charm for which the island is known.

Back in the seventies, I often wondered whether my videos would ever see the light of day, and never even thought of the fact that someday I might be able to stream the video to my audience via the web. In the early days, the camera itself weighed about fifty pounds, and then there was the battery pack (20 lbs.) and the VCR (20 lbs.) I had to lug around on my back. Here Is an "oral history" or MikeVideo.

It's May again. Another birthday, and I'm attempting another MikeVideo. There was a link to  MGI's share site, where I have uploaded a Windows media file of  some of the footage in my latest opus, "Selling Sex at the CES" a sort of "spring break" type video of porn stars at the Consumer Electronics Show Video Software Dealers Association. The clip is not rated X, but is somewhat risque.

(2001) This is the most important thing that has happened to me since I put up a website in the first place. I can upload and post small internet movies online. Trick is, you need a cable or DSL type modem to view them. (2004 NOTE: The hosting companies have since gone out of business. So the video footage cannot be accessed. All MikeVideos online are now accessed by the new index page.
