In 1992, when Beau Geste started to train Black Tie, he could only walk sideways to the left. He could not go straight, and he could not turn right. It took 5 years of massage, orthopedic shoeing, and careful training to get him to straighten. These pictures of him show that in 1999 he stays straight without any constraint. |

Now, Black Tie executes with grace all the basic dressage movements at all three gaits. His flying changes are very respectable. He still needs a compensating wedge on his front right hoof. And, his neck needs once in a while a good rub above an old deep scar to prevent spasms to develop.. |
