In 1992, when Beau Geste started to train Black Tie, he could only walk sideways to the left. He could not go straight, and he could not turn right. It took 5 years of massage, orthopedic shoeing, and careful training to get him to straighten. These pictures of him show that in 1999 he stays straight without any constraint.

Now, Black Tie executes with grace all the basic dressage movements at all three gaits. His flying changes are very respectable. He still needs a compensating wedge on his front right hoof. And, his neck needs once in a while a good rub above an old deep scar to prevent spasms to develop..
