On Tuesday 11th December is our Candlelit Concert of songs performed by the Junior Church. The church will be spectacularly lit with 100 candles, lasers, computer controlled lighting and 1,500 fairy lights for this popular village event. As well as the traditional Christmas numbers, there will be songs from musicals including Mary Poppins and the Phantom of the opera.
At 6pm on Sunday 23rd we go Carol Singing around the village. Since we started carol singing we have raised many thousands of pounds for charaties, both national and local. The evening concludes with plenty of mince pies, hot chocolate and mulled wine.
The highlight of the concert, certainly for the children, will be the appearance of Santa Claus, who will undoubtably come laden with sweets and goodies! There are surprises for the adults too: past concerts have included snow machines, thousands of bubbles falling from the roof and confetti cannons! What special effects will there be this year?!
On Sunday 16th December at 11am is our Christmas Family Service. The service will be led entirely by the Junior Church and will include carols, Christmas songs, an amusing version of the Christmas nativity and other sketches. The service will be followed by coffee and mince pies!
Everyone is welcome to attend the concert - there is no need to book and admission is free - just turn up in good time to ensure a seat! The concert starts at 7pm and doors open at 6.30pm. Delicious refreshments for all the audience will follow immediately afterwards!
