Tidbits on the Internet !
--- "I know this thread is getting old by now but lemme tell y'all what I did that makes BJ8 carb removal a (relative) breeze. I replace the 5/16" hex nuts (which require a 1/2" wrench) with 5/16-24 Jet Nuts from a Pegasus Racing catalog. These have a reduced hex (read 3/8" wrench) but the surface area is the same as the regular nut. Believe me, it's a zillion times easier to work with the smaller wrench. Just my 2-cents-worth...."

__ Notice an update to information on the "Can-Be-A-Nut" tour tab
--- Notice a change of Hotel information on the Can-Be-A-Nut tour. the Deadline for Hotel reservations has been changed to June 11th. (reservations are under Greg Hill's sister's name----Pam Audette.)
Thanks, Jim McDermott Web Master Cascadeahc@msn.com
--- Cascaders:
Just a reminder that the deadline to reserve rooms for the Can Be A Nut Tour
is June 11th. I've spoken to the Marina Inn in Anacortes and learned that we
have 9 rooms reserved. Apparently there were more reservations but some
canceled? If you have already made a reservation, it might be a good idea to
confirm it with the hotel to be sure you are all set. If you have yet to
register please do so this week, there are just a few rooms left in the
club's name and the hotel has no additional rooms to allocate. Once our
block is all reserved or the June 11 date passes there will be no more
rooms!
Anacortes is a difficult place in summer due to ferry traffic. We also have
a great rate ($95.00) at this property which has recently undergone
extensive updating! Don't delay!!

Alex -Was your problem a sticking float, or a needle valve that did not shut ? When my needle valve does not shut, I turn off my fuel pump (I have a switch in series with the pump) and run the engine until all the gas in the float bowls is used up. The floats are now at the bottomof the float chambers, and the needle valves are WIDE open. Turning the fuel pump back on causes an in rush of fuel, which usually blows any dirt off of the needle valve, and it will then work properly. This works for me, and it requires no disassembly of the float lid.- Bernie, 1967 BJ8
__ RUN TO THE RANCH 2008!
This years Run to the Ranch on Aug 23rd, promises to be better than ever, and Laurie and I are in full swing preparation for it!
SQUIRT YOU IN THE EYE, AND BLOWOUT ON THE ROAD!
Plan to arrive at 1pm, after your lunch, and gather in our 2400 sq. ft. air conditioned shop for some social time, and at 2pm, we will begin the Tech session. This years topics are:
1)The latest tire safety info, how to tell when it`s time for new one`s.
2)The Healey oiling system, particularly the rocker shaft and
bushings, and the effect on the oil pressure.
At 3pm we will head out on our mini-tour. This year we will get another
spectacular view of the Valley, from the East side of the river high on the plateau, time for pictures and enjoying. We will be back in the cool shop for dinner, the August club meeting, dessert and then the rest of the evening will be open shop time for answers to your own cars maintenance questions.
Each year we have 35 to 48 Healey friends attend, let`s see if we can break the 50 mark this year!! We want so many people we have to have a satellite meeting set up in the paint booth!
Laurie and I personally invite you, with or without your Healey, and
especially if you haven`t been able to make it to a previous one, or are brand new to the club. Come have a great time with a superior group of people!
