Kodak Incinerator Alert

Eastman Kodak's 24-year-old hazardous waste incinerator in Rochester comes up for the first environmental review in its operating lifetime. The occasion for this review is the need to upgrade the incinerator's pollution controls.

Kandid Coalition of Rochester and Citizens' Environmental Coalition urge you act in one or more of the following ways:

--Join a HALLOWEEN RALLY to protest toxic exposures linking the incinerator to a suspected children's cancer cluster in Monroe County, Monday October 30th, at 6:00-7:00 PM across from the Rochester Marriott (1890 West Ridge Road)

--Attend or testify at a Public Hearing Kodak's incinerators, Monday, October 30th, at 7:00 PM at the Rochester Marriott, Salon C (1890 West Ridge Road)

--Attend the Permit Meeting on the Kodak incinerator upgrade, Tuesday, October 31st, at 9:00 AM at the Rochester Marriott, Salon C (1890 West Ridge Road)

--Write a letter expressing your concern that the most environmentally protective controls possible be imposed on this facility, operated by New York's #1 manufacturing polluter; we've reprinted a sample letter drafted by Citizens' Environmental Coalition for this purpose.

You can find out more by attending any of these events, downloading the sample Comment Letter, or visiting CEC's site for their Kodak backgrounder.
