Some of my stuff doesn't easily fit into the other categories; so, I have set up this page to accommodate them.
The Murphy Bed
I found an excellent set of instructions for a Murphy (hideaway) bed by a miniaturist named SClarise. I used a Michaels' hutch as the basic unit. Marilyn did the fabric work.

Open the doors and there is the bed neatly folded away.
Stretch out the bed and all you need are covers, pillow and houseguest.
My first Roombox
I had some Japanese furniture for several years hoping that sometime I would find an approriate venue for it. Like a good mini person, I just couldn't pass up the bargain. By Golly I found a kit called the Tea Room of the Full Moon by Dee's Delights, Inc. Nuff said?
The kit has excellent gatorboard sides and wood trim. I covered the exterior with bamboo placemats I got at Pier One and stained with cherry stain. The Japanese prints were picked off the internet and framed with scraps of the bamboo. I painted the gatorboard with Krylon spray primer before painting with acrylic paint. All painting was done before assembly.
Living in Florida without a boat seemed unpatriotic. I had always wanted to build a boat, so I set about to build this one. I am afraid, though, that I can't haul too many passengers. It is only 5 1/2 inches long.
Circular Staircase
A good friend in the GSOLFOT Club asked for help with a project she was working on. She needed a circular staircase at 1/4"=1' scale. I was happy to attempt it for her.
The easy part was building the steps area. This was sent to Doris to have the carpet installed and upon return, was placed in a temporary holding fixture so the banister could be installed. The fixture held the banister railing in place while the 70 balusters were installed. The railing and balusters were made from scale lumber available from Midwest Products, Co.
