She wrote a poem for me,when life had beaten me down
She wrote a poem for me,and turned my life around:
And oh those words she wrote to me,they warmed my broken heart,
She pointed out the good in me, she gave me strength to start:
                                                                                          
To find a better world for me, with hope to carry on
to use the hurt I felt inside, to make me brave and strong;       
Many years have come and gone since she wrote that poem
I found another world for me, true love, a happy home;
But I have not forgotten, from whench I got that start
She took a frightened broken girl and drew me to her heart:                                                                              

So today I'll write a poem for her in hopes that she will see
The words in poem that she wrote, meant the world to me;
And maybe in this poem, she'll find the strength she needs
And it will have come full circle, the strength she gave to me...
