Announcing a new name for our
Rehearsal and Audition Hall
The Back Door Theater
Back Door Theater

We have bought the old Knights of Columbus building in Gulfport as of August 16, 2004. It is 7000 sq. ft. inside, has LOTS of room (complete with a spacious loft), a large parking lot, a full commercial kitchen, and a LOT of potential. This will be our new meeting, audition, and rehearsal space. We will also use the newly named Back Door Theater for some of our productions too.

Join our Building Fund Drive
Thanks to previous donations, we have raised enough money for a down payment on this building. All future donations will go into our building fund. We hope to "burn the mortgage" within 5 years. UPDATE: WE DID JUST THAT ON JUNE 16TH!

Our goal was to raise $50,000 each year for the next 5 years. Your donation will help transform the Back Door Theater from just a building, into a performing arts center. It will serve as a testing ground for new plays, new playwrights and challenging new projects. The community, both young and old, will experience children's plays, improv, musical variety shows, and dinner theater.

In the future, we hope grants and stipends will enable us to make improvements to the building and provide training in all aspects of live theater ... acting, set design, lights, sound, music, and dance.

With your help, the Gulfport Community Players will continue to bring the magic of live theater to Gulfport. If you want to be a part of this exciting process, send your donations to:
Gulfport Community Players, Inc.
4919 - 17th Avenue South
Gulfport, FL 33707

The Gulfport Community Players is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Your donations are fully tax deductible. Our IRS number is #59-2135038.

Audition Announcement for the light drama
Once More
The Gulfport Community Players, in association with the Florida Playwrights' Festival, will be holding auditions for a comedy entitled, Once More, on July 14th & 15th at
7 p.m. at the Players' Back Door Theater.

This play was locally written by Brian Wiggins, and is all about a community theater as it struggles to survive in these modern, cash-strapped times.

The director will be Frank Hale and he needs 4 adult males and 3 adult females for the cast. The play will run for 6 performances at the Back Door Theater, from August 22nd through August 31st.

All interested people, regardless of the level of experience, are urged to try out for a part.
