The Motor Sport known as Hillclimbing goes back nearly as far as the car it self. Basically its driving a Motor Vehicle up a tarmac hill as fast as is possible. The cars are timed by breaking a beam of light at the start and the finish. Usually a driver would get four attempts, two practice and two competition runs. Times are usually very close, with 100th of a second often deciding a class. There are classes for most types of vehicles, from a Mini to a Formula 1 car! The purpose of this site is not to give a written history of the sport, but to show some of the diverse vehicles which have appeared over the last 20 years.
