Certain Expectations is an enthnodrama based upon interviews with graduates of the McNair Scholars Program at the University of South Florida in Tampa. The play serves as a vehicle to celebrate the success of those students who were expected not to succeed. The play depicts students from from low-income backgrounds and underrepresented groups in a positive way in order to promote greater understanding and awareness and help in decreasing intolerance and discrimination. I hope that Certain Expectations will inspire others to defy expectations and succeed despite the obstacles they face.

JANE SAYS was founded by Karen Mueller Bryson, Ph.D. Karen is an award-winning playwright, novelist and actress as well as a National Certified Counselor. She earned Master's degrees in both Human Development Counseling and Creative Writing with an Emphasis in Playwriting. She earned a doctoral degree in Human Science at Saybrook Graduate School. |
