Through the Jane Says theatre project, women are provided a forum to create and present their own stories in a theatrical context for the purpose of developing a greater understanding and acceptance of self and others. The experiential nature of the program allows for deeper learning and growth to take place. Because theatre engages individuals physically, emotionally and mentally, it can be a more effective means of affecting attitudes and beliefs. Jane Says uses a transformational theatre curriculum that includes guided imagery, monologue writing exercises, and performance skills development.
