About Mary Alice Pollard

A "transplanted Greek goddess" needs very little introduction to the "animal world" and the world of compassion and kindness.

A feisty sprite, a whimsical fairy,  an artistic, multi talented whiz kid and an ardent defender of the voiceless, Mary Alice is known and loved by all except aliens who have been waylaid on a flight path
to Earth and have yet to document and essay her life and efforts on planet
Earth!

Since a tiny girl growing up in varied and exotic venues, Mary Alice's focus has been on point to create a superior world for the animals with whom we share this planet.

Those of us aboard this spinning globe we call "home", who are in tune with her character and spirit,  take incredible joy in her moving and inspiring website and her selfless devotion to her work, dreams
and goals.  This multi faceted woman and her work of art  is dedicated to those she has vowed to cherish and defend to the end.  Be it Thomas Turkey, the beloved Sir Alfred or the other countless members of the zoological Pollard  family that bear her family name but no resemblance,
well almost none, - each and every divine creature holds a singular place in
the life and heart of Mary Alice and in the splendor of Jollity Farm.

Mary Alice is a creature of many talents.  A design genius is most definitively not her only credit listing.  Her self taught photographic techniques and the breathtaking images she captures through her passion for the lens, are stunning, brilliant and a true reflection of her
soul and her  vision of life on this "plane".

Mary Alice Pollard is a kind and courageous person, she inspired me to write songs for the voiceless and her determination to end the suffering of sentient beings is her life's work. Cornwall is lucky to have their own voice for animals and the rescue animals of Jollity Farm are very lucky to be cared for by a person that truly knows the meaning of unconditional love. I hope you will join me in supporting Jollity Farm, a little goes a long way when it is spent wisely on keeping animals from harm for the rest of their natural lives.

Through Mary Alice's tireless work as 'Cornwall's Voice For Animals'  the wonderful Mary-Alice truly is a voice for the voiceless. This truly dedicated and inspirational lady not only helps animals globally by supporting and promoting animal charities, groups and campaigns throughout the world but Mary-Alice together with husband Chris, also love and care for their own adopted family of rescued animals back home at 'Jollity Farm'. Mary-Alice refers to these precious souls as her 'Animal kids'.

Anyone who runs a sanctuary for animals will know only too well how costly it is to care for these precious souls and as Mary-Alice is always reluctant to ask for donations and would instead rather encourage people to give to other needy causes (God bless her heart), the SWAP team felt that as it's Valentine's Day this is a lovely opportunity to put out an appeal on her behalf.

Mary-Alice and husband Chris have created a wonderful and permanent safe sanctuary for many unwanted animals over the years at 'Jollity Farm'. Here these precious 'Animal kids' who Mary-Alice and Chris have saved from terrible fate are now able to live out their natural lives in a safe and loving environment.

These precious souls include 3  Shetland Ponies, 2  Sheep ( placed into Mary-Alice's care), 4  Goats ( placed into Mary-Alice's care and 2 placed into Mary-Alices care), 1  Turkey (rescued), 1 Goose ( placed into Mary-Alice's care), 2  Tortoises (One Fostered from the Tortoise Garden Sanctuary  9  Ducks  (5 place into Mary-Alice's care - 4 rescued) I rooster and 12 x-battery hens..

Aside from this adorable gang, 2 Dogs, 5 Cats, 4 Budgies, and 2 Cockatiels  also reside in the farm's cottage with Mary-Alice and Chris.

Darling 'Alfy' Mary-Alice and Chris's beloved companion, very sadly passed away in January this year, and our hearts go out to them for their sad loss. RIP darling Alfy.

As you can imagine, caring for all the precious animals at Jollity Farm creates a large amount of costs particularly in Veterinary care and feeding expenses.
If you would like to support the darling animals at 'Jollity Farm' by kindly making a donation then please visit http://www.cornwallsvoiceforanimals.org/Appeal.html for full details on how you can help, when making a donation you can select whether you would like your payment to go directly to the Vets or directly to the food supplier.
Mary Alice's message on the appeal page says - "We are not told who has helped us - your contributions only show on the monthly invoice so we wish to say here and now, Thank You to everyone who has given such wonderful gifts!
If you would like to notify us of your contribution, please email me at cvfa.uk@virgin.net so I may thank you personally -:)

On the appeal page you can also view some wonderful photos and videos of all the animals.
