This is the meter of such hymns as "Am I a Soldier of the Cross" and "O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing"
1. Praise God, you servants of the Lord,
O praise God's holy name!
Blest be God's name from this time forth,
Now and forevermore.
2. From rise of sun until it sets
God's name is to be praised.
The Lord is high o'er nations all,
God's glory o'er the heav'ns.
3. Oh, who is like the Lord our God,
Who is seated on high,
Who looks far down on heav'n and earth?
Oh, who is like the Lord?
4. God lifts the poor up from the dust,
The needy from the ash,
God lifts them to an equal state
With rulers of his folk.
5. He welcomes home the barren one,
A mother she becomes,
With joy her children she receives.
Let all flesh praise the Lord!
