This is the meter of such hymns as "Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow."
1. When Israel left Egypt's land,
When Jacob's house left foreign soil,
Judah became God's sanctuary,
And Israel God's dominion was.
2. The sea looked and then ran away;
The Jordan River stopped its flow.
The mountains skipped and leaped like goats,
The hills like lambs and kids did jump.
3. O sea, what made you run away?
O Jordan, why'd you stop your flow?
You mountains, why'd you skip like goats?
And hills, why did you jump like lambs?
4. Earth, tremble at the Lord's presence,
Before the face of Jacob's God,
Who turns the rock into a pool,
And from flint brings forth flowing springs.
