This is the meter of such hymns as "Jesus Shall Reign" and "O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee"
1. I will extol you, God my king,
And bless your name forevermore.
Each day I'll bless your holy name,
And praise your goodness evermore.
2. Great is the Lord, great to be praised.
His greatness is unsearchable.
One generation shall declare
Your mighty works unto the next.
3. I'll think upon your wondrous works,
And on your glorious majesty.
The Lord is just in all his ways,
And kind in ev'rything he does.
4. The Lord is near to all who call,
To all who call on him in truth.
He grants the needs of godly ones,
He hears their cry, and he saves them.
5. The Lord protects those who love him,
But all the wicked he destroys.
My mouth will speak the praise of God.
Let all flesh always bless his name.
