We're still here...I SWEAR! REALLY! HONEST!!!

Man, I can't believe it's so hard to keep up with a second blog. Things are chugging along...I have a few writing projects in the works and tons of lettering gigs, Rich is cranking out more Drunken Monkey through Silent Devil, Ron is developing what I hope will become a fun little superhero universe unto itself, Al's cranking out stuff under his Luchador brand...6-Pack Stories and some kids books and all sortd of neat indy stuff. Everyone else seems to have fallen of the face of the earth.

Please keep an eye on us I truly hope to get things happening here on the site more. Slowly but (I hope) surely MFE will start to take on a more cohesive shape. Until then...DO keep up with us via our sites and blogs listed over to the right.

Yeah, I'm still slacking on the updates...

And it doesn't help none of the other guys will post in here. Slackers.

So, As previously mentioned Rich's new Drunken Monkey mini (lettered by my own bad self) will be coming at you in full color from the folks at Silent Devil. Seems they have a wealth of monkey madness going on over there and they've dubbed this the.....

WE'RE STILL HERE!!!

It's been forever since we've updated the site or even posted some news. We're all too busy making comics, I guess.

I've been lettering like crazy! Dead Men Tell No Tales (Arcana Studios), Lost Squad (Devil's Due), Trailer Park of Terror and Pierce (Imperium Comics) and I've Just started working on Furious Fist of the Drunken Monkey: Origin of the Species (Silent Devil). I'm also grinding away writing two Nothingface story arcs and the first Black Watch miniseries.

As for the other guys...well, it's hard to enough to keep my own work straight in my head! :D Here's what I got off the top of my head...

Rich is writing and drawing the previously mentioned Drunken Monkey mini.

Ron has more Klik Boom on the way.

Jon's doing....something.

Mathias is still pretty much MIA as his work in the videogame industry takes all his time.

And Glenn is working on some great new sci-fi comic material....when and of he gets free time from his job at a major chicago newspaper.

And...uhhh...well, the guys need to just get in here and post there own stuff! :D

We'll TRY to get something done with the website soon. At this point it's looking like the easiest thing for everyone to keep up on is blogging...maybe the site will just become a group of interconnected blogs!

What's new......

Well, it's been a busy summer! Everyone's having personal lives and going to conventions and busting ass trying to get comics made.

The B&W art for Nothingface #1 (the ongoing series spinning out of the graphic novel) is one page shy of complete! Dan "Dano" Schmidt is working away and has the script to #2 already in hand and is anxious to get started on it. I think he's anxious to tackle the visuals of the torture....I mean INTERROGATION scene. Hopefully there will soon be some color pages to tease you with....as soonas I FIND a colorist. ;)

I've also written a stand-alone one-issue story that will probably run as a feature in Digital Webbing Presents. I'm hoping that Cinar will return to illustrate that one, people have really enjoyed his work on the GN. Two other story arcs have also been started so that I can get those artists started as soon as possible.

Gladiatrix may be resurfacing sometime soon as well. There's an artist interested in bringing her adventures to the page with me and maybe we can ride on Red Sonja's coat tails a little. (Not that I've ever seen Sonja WEAR a coat...thank God!)

Lettering...feels like I've been doing more lettering than anything else lately!

Dead Men Tell No Tales from Deadlight Studio by way of Arcana Comics is all kinds of good stuff crammed into one book. Pirates AND zombies! Issue #1 ships this month and has a Templesmith cover. And here's the cover to #2 by Steve Perkins...

I'm also lettering Chris Kirby's Lost Squad from Devil's Due. Another really fun read...brings me back to those old war comics but throws in a healthy dose the outrageous. In a previous story published in DWP, the Squad went up against Nazis in robot-suits. In the first issue of the Devil's Due series the nazis are after "powerful artifacts." Check it out!

I'm lettering a few other things, Ron is working on more Klik Boom, Rich is working on another Drunken Monkey issue as well as some other things...I'll see if I can get the other guys in here to post some updates.

Take it easy!

Oh, and buy our stuff!

Later,
Kel

ZOMBIE BIKINI BEACH, by Jon Hook

Yay! I'm working on a developing a comic that I'm going to pitch to a few publishers to see if anyone is interested in publishing it.

The book is called ZOMBIE BIKINI BEACH, and this is the cover!

ZBB is written by MFE member: me, penciled by Dan Schmidt, inked by Scott Robinson, and colored by Mauricio Pinzon!

I'll keep you posted on how the pitch goes.
