In 2007, our Tree Giveaway Program gave away nearly 5,000 tree seedlings during the month of April. For the eighteenth straight year we handed out trees to people attending the EarthFest event at the Cleveland Zoo, where this year, over 1,000 seedlings were happily taken home for planting by children, teenagers, adults and elderly.
Over 3,000 White Pine seedlings were given away to students at several Cleveland and suburban schools, as well as other public service organizations.
NOWC wishes to thank all the generous people and businesses whose donations and volunteer work made this program possible ....
We wish to acknowledge Carol Ward, naturalist, at the Cleveland Lakefront State Park for her enthusiasitc support. Carol organized the distribution of the trees to schools and gave presentations to student assemblies at the schools about the many benefits that trees provide
