Queen's Circle (Kerr 2000) Wins Dykes Medal for 2007
Queen's Circle brought yet another honor to our garden, the coveted W. R. Dykes Memorial Medal for 2008. Widely regarded as the highest award an iris can receive, the medal is presented by the American Iris Soceity through the aspices of the British Iris Society. Queen's Circle has also been awarded the Award of Garden Merit from the British Iris Society. The secret, if there is one, to the success of Queen's Circle, is that it grows well over such a wide range of garden conditions from coast to coast. Its record is one which our garden can hope to equal, but hardly surpass.
Previous customers will note a number of changes both to the web site and to our printed catalog. Because of great demand last year some varieties were over-sold and it is necessary to withhold them from sale this year in order to rebuild stock. Regretably we have reached the point where some of my older varieties have been discontinued altogether due to space limitations. I will continue to carry photos on the web site for identification purposes.
The second change is that we will be reducing the number of varieties offered from other hybridizers. This is demanded by space limitations and the reality of how much energy I can expend.
