New Bucket Seats from TPI
Nice seats and very comfortable. Kind of a dog to install. The seat bracket slides have holes 15" apart. The seats have holes about 14" apart. Adapter needs to be constructed to allow for this difference. Also, seat needs to be elevated at least 1" so that bracket slides do not tear the upholstery...... also so that slide release lever does not drag across upholstery.
TPI floor mat was an excellent fit.
OK, it's off now. The 3 jaw puller above did not do the trick. A trip to the autoparts store netted the Pitman Arm puller, seen to the left at bottom center. The secret is to apply firm pressure to the screw..... but don't force it. Forcing it can shatter the puller. Apply pressure and then apply the BFH shown to the left to the hex head of the screw. If that doesn't get it, then apply the torch to the Pitman arm and whack some more.
I'm including some of the rest of the cast of characters in this orgy. First off, the BFFire Extinguisher. Not seen are two other ABC extinguishers off camera. To remove the old steering gearbox mount (riveted on) I used the angle grinder with my normal safety glasses augmented by the big face shield and heavy gloves. I have ground off the rivet heads (4ea) but it's too late in the evening to be whacking the rivets out with the BFH.
Also note the PB Blaster can. I'm taking the opportunity to soak all the suspension parts in anticipation of the 2-1/2" lift to be installed later.
JTO steering and OME lift completed now. All is dandy !
