The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Canton is a spiritual fellowship that seeks to:

  • Provide a caring and compassionate community
  • Nuture the spiritual growth of our members and friends
  • Promote religious freedom and social justice
  • Celebrate diversity

We respect and welcome the individual differences that make us stronger as a congregation and endeavor to honor the UU Principles and Purposes in all our words and actions.

As a lay-led congregation, we provide Sunday services that vary in topic and approach, so we urge you to visit more than once.  In addition, we have several activities each month, including two book and movie discussion clubs, potluck suppers, children's programs and more.

Welcome to our new minister
Renee Zimelis Ruchotzke

Renee will start her new position as part-time student minister with us on Sunday, Sept. 7.  We will host a special reception after the service to welcome her.

A student at Meadville-Lombard Theological Seminary at the University of Chicago, Renee lives in Kent with her husband, two children and two step-children.  She has been an active member of the Kent UU for many years.  After a 20-year career in engineering, she decided to enter the UU ministry.  For the past two years while attending seminary, Renee has served as part-time director of religious education at the East Shore UU congregation in Kirtland, Ohio. Friday, Oct. 24, 6 p.m. - "Wiccan Silent Feast"

All are welcome to this traditional Wiccan rite celebrated in honor of deceased loved ones at Samhain.  The Silent Feast is a magical night of communion for the living and the dead.  The evening will begin with a ceremony welcoming deceased loved ones, after which the feast is served and all eat in silence.  Remaining quiet allows you to more easily open your heart and mind to those who have crossed over.  The traditional color to wear is black.  Please prepare a favorite food of a deceased love one or of the season to share.  Bring your own place settings.  Questions? Contact Lisa Maxey at moonchsr42@yahoo.com or 330.433.1027.
