''A Jamaican Experience"
Dear church family. Well here we are in beautiful Jamaica!! Our work and witness team consists of 15 Team members (volunteer work). The project is to help build a wing of three classrooms and two bathrooms for the Burnt Savannah Church of the Nazarene. This project will be dedicated in memory of Lois Heath, a faithful servant who loved God and served with joy. Jamaica is a beautiful country with beautiful people!! To God be the glory for allowing us to come to Jamaica and be "His hand extended!"
God Bless You, Cordie
Dear family and friends,
Well, here we are this July 4th in beautiful Jamaica!! The huge sign at the airport says "Jamaica, the land of love birds."
This is their hot season with temperatures in the 90's. All is well and the team is more than GREAT!! The project is moving right along and the team loves working along side of out new Jamaican friends.
The Mission House, where we are staying is beautiful and the Jamaican food is very tasty! After about 8 hours of work, we headed to Wednesday night prayer meeting.
Each team member sends their greetings and love, along with a big thank you for all your support.
"Thank you, Lord for allowing each of us to be your "hand extended in Jamaica."

Dear Family and Friends,
We are on our 4th day of working on this project. There's been a lot of re barring, knocking out walls, removing roof material, and stacking cement blocks, along with that... a lot delicious Jamaican food and good fellowship.
Tomorrow will be a long day of mixing, hauling and pouring cement. There will be more of our Jamaica friends working beside us.
Saturday will be our day off. We will be swimming, shopping and sightseeing. PRAISE GOD!
Loads of love to each of you. Please remember to pray for the Team each day.

PS. Jamaica will start 45 years of nationhood July 6. (1962 - 2007) They will celebrating everyday. July 6 - August 6
Day 5
This is our 5th day on the project. We got in 5 hours of work before the rain set in. We are having an early dinner and then we will go swimming in the river behind the Mission House. This is the place where they do their baptismal services. Each of us are very happy that God allowed us to come to Jamaica and help build the Burnt Savannah Church. Sunday night is the "Night of Elegance" and the church will have it here at the Mission House. Sounds interesting.
Loads of Love, Your Working and Witness Team in Jamaica PS. We had Curry Goat for dinner.

Dear Family and Friends,
Saturday and Sunday were very special!
Saturday was at the beach swimming, taking a boat ride farther out in the waters to snorkle, a big lunch at a restaurant on the beach, and SHOPPING!!
Sunday the Team returned to the Mt. Carmel Church for morning worship. This church was 90% destroyed by hurricane Ivan and is in the process of being rebuilt by Work and Witness Teams. Their pastor suddenly died about nine months ago. They're really a grieving church.
Sunday evening the Team attended the Evening of Elegance. WOW !! It was extremly formal with the women in their beautiful gowns and the music was tops. Food galore!! Tell you more on this one later. It was truly an evening of Elegance!!
Monday and Tuesday (today) the Team is very busy hauling sand, gravel, rebarring , and pouring concrete. Lots of rain! The Team really looks like they're participated in a "mud bath."
We love our Jamican "Family of God".
Please keep praying for us each day.

Dear Family and Friends,
Wednesday (yesterday) more rebarring, shoveling sand/gravel, and pouring cement. Again each Team member looked nasty at the end of the day. The temperature was 105 in the sun and 98 in the shade, but this has been the norm. Our farewell service was during Evening Prayer Meeting. The Team was touched emotionally!! We love our Jamaican friends!!
Thursday (today) we are starting our last day of working on the project. We will not be able to see the wing of classrooms completed, but the end results will be beautiful... Tonight the Team will be dividing into three groups and visiting in the homes of the local people. We have been looking forward to this.
Friday (tomorrow) the Team will be going to the Falls.
When we return to the Mission House, we will start packing
our gear to head back to Ohio to our family and friends.
Saturday, 9:00 AM Jamaican time and 10:00 Ohio time,
we will be having a Dedication Service... dedicating the wing
of classrooms in memory of Lois. the plaque will be hung
on this wall, by the bell that rings each Sunday morning
welcoming the of the Burnt Savannah community.
The Dedication Service is going to be beautiful!! ...After the
service the Team will head directly to the airport and then it's...
"OHIO HERE WE COME!! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!"
"Thank you LORD, for allowing us to share our love and
efforts with our Friends in Jamaica. We leave the results in
your hands. In Jesus name, Amen."
