Busy, Busy Girls

There's not much new to tell - Kimberly is still wonderful, and we're having a great time! Some of our college friends visited us last weekend, and we dressed Kimberly up for Easter! She didn't have any chocolate eggs this year (but we did!). Grandpa Mike and Grandma Joy sent her Easter outfit, and it was so cute! They will be visiting next weekend, along with Great-Grandma & Grandpa Mendon - I can't wait for them to meet her.

I left her with a sitter (who wasn't grandma) today for the first time. I had a Dr. appointment in Ventura, so I left her with my friend and her mom & grandma. She had a great time, and I think they did too. They were all huddled around entertaining her when I got back.

Tomorrow we are venturing out to have breakfast with some friends, and Thursday we have a playdate at the park for lunch. Busy, busy girls we are.....

Oh, one other thing - I can wear my wedding ring again! Yeah!

Searching for Daycare

Today Kimberly and I went searching for daycare. We visited with Pearlie, who has 6 kids at her house right now, but is planning to go down to 4 kids (infants only) starting in June. I liked Pearlie, and her place seemed nice, the only thing would be if she didn't scale back as she is planning, there would be a lot of kids for just one person.

We also stopped by Kindercare and Great Beginnings Preschool. No one came out to say Hi to me at Kindercare, but I grabbed some info. I really didn't like Great Beginnings. It just seemed like a big warehouse, and there were no other babies around Kimberly's age, so I worry that she wouldn't get any attention.

I still have more calls to make. I'm not sure if I'm calling too early or not - this is all new to me.

I Can't Get Enough

Kimberly is full of smiles!!! She is just so alert, and when someone smiles at her, she really smiles back! Saturday morning I was holding her, and Daddy came up behind me and said hi to her over my shoulder. You should have seen her face light up! Of course, my face lit up too, as did his, and it was one of those "moments" that was so fun to share.

We're starting to get out of the house a little bit. I can drive again, so we've made some trips to the grocery store, and to Target, and to Petco. Grandma Terry and Auntie Tracey visited this weekend, and they watched Kimberly while we went and had our taxes done, and then the next day we went out to dinner! I know we were more worried about leaving than she was - each time we came home, she was asleep in Grandma's arms!!

Work asked me to think about when I'm coming back, and how many hours a week I want to work. Decisions, decisions. I guess now is the time to start looking at daycare options. It was actually probably time 2 months ago, but it seemed like it was so far away. I guess there's a lot for me to do in the next couple of months! All that being said, I'm also going to spend a lot of time just enjoying Kimberly. Yesterday we spent 1/2 hour rocking in the glider - I can't get enough.

2 1/2 Weeks

Kimberly is 2 1/2 weeks old!! I can't believe it - it has passed so quickly! Grandma Bean (Robin - Lisa's Mom) came to visit last week - it was great having her here - I'm so glad she got to meet Kimberly & hang out with her. It was also nice having her take care of me - making me take a nap during the day, cleaning my refrigerator & doing my laundry, driving me around! But now, it's back to the three of us & Kali.

Kimberly is still an angel! We've had a couple of nights that were tougher than others, and when Grandma left, she cried for about 4 hours, but other than that, she loves to sleep at night, and be awake during the day!

We took her to her 2 week appointment last Friday - She is already a pound over her birth weight! The Dr. was impressed - she said that most babies are just getting back to their birth weight at this point.

She is smiling at us when we say Hi to her - at least we think she is smiling - and she LOVES to look at lights. All of us are in love with her. I got a card from my sister that says "Motherhood is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body", and I think that's the truth!
