Just Giving the People What they Want!

Hello World! Mom says that you all come to this site to hear about me, so I thought - why not give the people what they ask for! I'm taking over for awile. You may have a guest commentary from Mom from time to time, but really, who's more interesting to talk to!

What is new in the world of Me? Well, I am learning more and more about my world. This week I figured out that I have a cool black furry thing that is always lurking nearby. Mom calls her Kali, and I sure think she is pretty. Sometimes Mom & Dad make her come sit by me, and I get to pet her. I reach my hands out so that I can touch her nose, and sometimes she licks my hands!

Last weekend, Mom & Dad put up a shade tarp out on the patio. This is great for me, because now I can go sit out there without getting sunburned. Mom too - it's important for her to stay out of the sun, I don't want her to have any more surgeries. We haven't gotten to try it out too much yet, because they just finished it on Sunday, and since then, I've been hanging out with Kirsten and my Crew during the day.

Speaking of my Crew - yesterday was SO EMBARASSING!!! Mom took me over to Kirsten's, and Nate and I were wearing the SAME OUTFIT!!! They were green & yellow striped jammies. Mom said that I looked like Nate, except he has more hair. AARRRGGHHH - I can't wait until I have long hair.

Mmmmm, what else? I got to go to the bowling alley last night - we go every Tuesday night. I get passed back and forth like a ping pong ball - but I don't cry at all. For a little while I was in my carseat with a blanket over the top like a fort, but I think it was because I fell asleep. I kicked my legs, and Dad came and rescued me. Mom bowled one game awesome (179!), but other than that, she was pretty bad (don't tell her I told you, but in her last game, she didn't even break 100!!)

This weekend is 4th of July - 3 whole days of Mom & Dad home with me, and Grandma Terry is coming to visit. Maybe I'll try to stay awake for fireworks!

4 Month Appointment

Kimberly had her 4 month appointment on June 16th. Here are the stats:

14 lbs., 12 oz - 75th Percentile
25.75 inches - 90th or 95th Percentile

Once again, I didn't ask about head circumference, but I know they measured it.

She got two shots again, and leg turned pretty red and hard underneath, but part of that was I forgot to "rub it out" like I did after the two month shots. All in all, she did wonderfully.

We also got the OK to use the jogging stroller. The manual says not to use it until 6 months (they are afraid that smaller babies don't have enough head control), but Dr. Rao said it is totally fine for us to use it. We've gone on two jogs, and she seems to enjoy it. The hardest part is keeping her out of the sun, but I usually do a decent job with the canopy plus a blanket.

That's not actually the hardest part. The hardest part is trying to push the stroller and keep the dog on the least in one hand. My arms are getting an awesome workout!!

Tears about her Ears

It seems that Kimberly has her first ear infection. She's been a little stuffy for the last couple of weeks, but nothing too bad. This weekend, her nose seemed to clear up, but she was coughing more, and she was acting really out of sorts. She woke up crying most of the time, instead of being her normal happy self. She also wanted to be held all the time - and if you put her down, she would cry that pained cry. We determined on Sunday she had a fever, so we gave her Tylenol a couple of times. This morning, she still had a fever, so it was off to Dr. Rao.

Dr. Rao commented on how big she has gotten - and she has - she seems so long. We won't know the stats for a couple of weeks, then she'll have her 4 month appointment. They took her temp (100.5), and looked at her ears (right one, not too bad. left one, pretty bad). She had to clean the earwax out of her left ear before she could get a good look at it, and let me tell you - that did not go over too well! So, we have a prescription for Amoxicillan - twice a day for the next ten days. I'm told she should feel better pretty fast. I hope so - it's hard seeing her so sad.
