Ribbons Of Hope
by Craig Deanto....All Rights Reserved©1999

I miss you my child
I miss your smile
I miss your laughter and tears

I miss your touch
No distance too much
God hears your cries and your prayers

The leaves are falling
Winter is calling
The birds are singing
The sun is shining
It's been a long, long time

Together we'll find them

Hush-a-bye my baby
Hallelujah, don't you cry
Pink, yellow, blue ribbons for you

We hear you crying
And won't stop trying 'til your home

Hush-a-bye my baby
Hallelujah, don't you cry
Pink, yellow, blue ribbons for you

Wherever you are
No matter how far
In my heart you are here

It's a shame and a sin
Ribbons of hope, 'til we win

Together we'll find them.

Hush-a-bye my baby
Hallelujah, don't you cry
Pink, yellow, blue ribbons for you

I miss you my child
I miss your smile
I miss your laughter and tears

I miss your touch
No distance too much
God hears your cries and your prayers

Ribbons of hope
Ribbons of hope for you
Below are many ways in which you may be able to help us get the word out, and help the children. Depending on the time and resources you have to offer, you should be able to find at least one that will work for you. You may even have an idea of your own, and I would love to hear about it, and share your ideas with others interested in helping out.

BECOMING A STAR IN YOUR OWN COMMUNITY!
One of the truly great ways to get the word out, and solicit support, is to create a flyer for the Ribbons Campaign, and go to a local mall and pass out the information. You should even be able to get some local businesses to supply you the products to use for free. We have found that both Kinko's and Staples have given the paper and printing time free for Missing Children's efforts, especially if you do acknowledge their kind donation. We can supply you with all the art and pictures you will need, though design is only limited by your imagination! Make sure you get the permission of the mall to hand out the flyers, or better yet, set up a table with information, ribbons, etc. Check with your local craft stores, fabric shops, and Walmart to see if they will contribute the ribbon.

Once you have done this, or while you are preparing things, here is what else you need to do. Call your local radio & TV stations as well as newspapers, and ask for the Internet Reporter. If they do not have one, ask for the News desk. Tell them that you are representing the Internet "Ribbons of Hope" campaign for missing children, and that you will be at [name of mall] handing out literature, supplied with the kind donation of [name of print shop] Ask them if they would be so kind as to send someone out to report on it, as they have done in other communities.

You can find most of them in your yellow pages, and here is one way to find all the radio stations near you: Radio Station Locator.

LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGN
Maybe you are too shy, or do not have the time to do this, but you do have that computer sitting there! Here is another way to help!

Write letters to local, state, and federal officials asking that they name the month of May "National Missing Children's Month", and tell them you are a part of an Internet campaign to bring the children home. Talk to them about becoming involved with us. Send them the links of what we are doing, and how they can get more information (listed below). You may get what is called an "auto-responder" message back, but be assured, they will get your email, so do not lose hope!

Please be patient while the MPEG-Layer 3 wav loads. You can turn it off and on at the bottom of the page. For wav compression help, please visit Joy's Wav Compression Help Page.

NOTE: Recently it was brought to my attention that the contents of a page linked on Joy's site has been spammed with porn links. Be advised, if you click to that page before she can fix it, do NOT click on any of the so called "Member" links in the guest book. The page that has been spammed is listed at the bottom as "Members Homepage Links." There are some great links there, but then there are some porn link postings towards the bottom. Sadly, this is a common occurrence with everyone's guest books these days. SPAM of all types from basic goods and services to even worse, porn links, are left on our guest books all the time. Please, when you see something like that,  contact the web page author so they can fix it, don't get mad at them. It's out of our control unless we know about it! Thank you.

The Children Say Thank You
Pink, yellow and blue ribbons of hope....

The pink is for the missing little girls, the blue for the boys, and the yellow.... because they aren't home where they belong tonight.

A simple enough concept ......
But those ribbons can reach out and help children everywhere.
