CINCINNATI CITY COUNCIL
A RESOLUTION
Commending radio station WSAI and Mr. Rod Williams, The station's News director, for
exceptional public service to the citizens of the greater Cincinnati area.
WHEREAS,
in July of 1966, Mr. Rod Williams, news director of WSAI made a tour to the combat
zone of Vietnam, obtaining taped interviews with u.s. servicemen from the greater
Cincinnati area,and
WHEREAS,
during the aforesaid tour, Mr. Williams filmed a documentary featuring local servicemen
and said film has been shown through out the midwest, now therefored
BE IT RESOLVED
 by the council of the city of Cincinnati, state of Ohio:
that the members of council hereby commend radio station WSAI and News Director
Rod Williams for exceptional public service to the citizens of the greater Cincinnati
area by reason of Mr. Williams filmed and taped interviews of local servicemen serving
with the U.S. military om the combat zone of Vietnam.

To commend radio station WSAI of Cincinnati and Rod Williams ,News Director for their
contribution of exceptional public service to the citizens of Cincinnati and the state of Ohio.
WHEREAS,
 The members of the senate of the 107th Ohio Gneral Aassembly are keenly award that the
armed conflict in vietnam is formost in the minds  of most Americans; and
WHEREAS.
The american people desire to keep abreast of her valiant sons and daughters who are
sacrificing their lives in the act of fighting for. and defending the cause of freedom and
democracy; and
WHEREAS.
the risking of one's life to bring "home' the true story of the conflict is in keeping with the
spirit and tradition of what is well recognized as the best in American news reporting; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Rod Williams, News Director of WSAI radio station, in upholding this tradition
of on the spot reporting has traveld to the very scene of the action and brought back  to
the greater Cincinnati area and the state, memorable news and taped interviews with the
loyal sons and daughters of Ohio who are courageously serving our nation in the Vietnam
theater;  therefore be it
RESOLVED.
that the members of the 107th Ohio General assembly,  by adopting this resolution  and causing a copy therof to be spread upon the pages of this journal,  hereby pay tribute and commend radio station WSAI and Mr. Rod Williams for their outstanding public contribution in bringing to the citizens of Ohio, and in particular to the citizens of the
greater Cincinnati area, un excelled news coverage and reporting through this out
standing and unselfish efforts expended by Mr. Williams in Vietnam ; and be it
further
RESOLVED,
That the clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authorized copy of this resolution to
radio station WSAI and Mr. Rod Williams
I Thos.E. Bateman, hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the
senate Resolution number 6, adopted by the Ohio Senate, Jan. 10th 1967.
