Its Heather Murphy, Jill and Preston's granddaughter. Im just a
beginner in all of this genealogy stuff. I've done quite a bit on
Ancestry.com, getting back to the mid 1400s. most of my progress
has been from accepting others' family trees with no proof or very
little shown. However, None of it sticks out as not making sense.
I'm working to see how far back I can get, then going back and
gathering the proof to support it.
Anyway, thanks for making this info available!|

|I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Nova A. Lemons for
publishing Pioneers of Chickasaw Nation, Indian
Territory; Volumes 1 and 2. For an amateur
genealogist, these books have some of the most
detailed information that I have encountered during
my research. Extremely helpful! I didn't have a
whole lot of information when I started back in
1997. I'm finally concluding research on my
grandmother (Maggie May Poff) after 17 years. My
research did not have all the results I was looking
for; however, there was a couple of surprises. One
surprise was that my grandmother was the First
American Indian Registered Nurse. I have since
donated her items relating to her nursing career to
the Chickasaw Holisso Center in Sulfur, Oklahoma.
Again I just want to stress that the 2 books
Pioneers of Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory;
Volumes 1 and 2 by Nova A. Lemons were invaluable in
my research! Thanks Again!|

Hello, can you thank Malacha for FTDNA testing.
My mom's [Francine Ola Dalton] FTDNA Family Finder
DNA results just came in, and one of her closest
tested DNA matches[close/generation 2 to 4 cousin]
turned out to be Malacha Lemons. I've been looking
for my Native American ancestors for a very long,
long time. Thanks to Malacha, I've found some of
them. Can you email me your or Malacha's Lemons
genealogy file? If you'd like me to email you mine,
no problem, it's a huge one [actually, I have
several of them.
I'll tell you just a little about my mom's
relatives and ancestors. My mom was born in Homer,
GA., in 1934. Her parents were Lester Dalton and
Lillie Meeks. I looked at your paternal and
maternal surnames. I have many of those same
surnames in my ancestry. My great., gr., gr., great
grandfather [mom's side] was Robert Fisher Brown
Sr. [b. 1759, Culpeper Co., VA. - d. 1840,
Banks/Habersham Co., GA.
There are [at least] two of my ancestors [Hugh
Burditt Meeks & James Jackson Blackburn, that I
know of, who filed [rejected] Guion Miller
applications. Hugh's oldest brother, James Morgan
Meeks, is my gr., gr., great grandfather. He may
have died in Oklahoma, in 1910, not sure of his
death place. Their parents were Francis Lucinda
Brown [daughter of Robert Fisher Brown Sr.] & Rev.
Littleton Meeks Jr. Littleton Sr.'s father, Rev.
Littleton Meeks Sr. was an indian agent to the
Cherokee, the off site superintendant of the
Cherokee Mission Tinsawattee [until 1838 and the
Trail of Tears removal], in NE GA., and founded
several Baptist churches in NE GA. & SC. area.
Good to find my Native American ancestors and
relatives, they are the toughest to trace and
research, as so very many records were lost, birned
or destroyed. Thank you for this website, it's a
great one. I have lots of genealogy files and
information. If you'd like me to email you any of
it, let me know, no problem.

well. Maybe part of the Arterberries?

|I found your information very interesting. Came
upon it while trying to research s. e. Sarah Sally
Jones. born 1808, Davie county, N. C. She is on
the 1850 census with Mathew and Martin Jones, ages
22 and 24, who I suppose are her sons. I
understand there was a Drury Jones living with her
in 1840 census. Don't know if he is her husband,
brother, brother in law. Would love to know who
her parents were and something about Drury.
Somewhere with these folks is an Asa jones. Asa
and Drury were probably born 1809, 1810. Hope to
here from someone!! Norma Vaughn,

|Hello, love your site. I'm interested in the
Lemons/Lemmons surname. My Grandfather was James
Lemons born in TN 1857 and died in AR/OK in 1924.
All we know of him is he was born in TN and his
Father was Dave Lemons from TN. The only place in
the census I've been able to find him is the 1910
Crawford County with wife, my Grandmother, Louella
Fraley. He's 48 and she is 22 and it lists that
marriage as his 2nd. He was kicked by a horse in
1924 died and she ran off and left her kids. Their
kids were Clara, Myrtle, Sam (female), Jake/Jess,
Marie and Roy Lemons. I remember them talking about
the Ragsdale, Tripp, and Young surnames. Three of
the girls married brothers (Young). Do any of these
names ring a bell? Shirley|
